One way to know if people visit your site or not, I have learned, is to not update it for awhile and wait to see how many "when are you going to update your website?" comments your hear. Okay, well it is evident that we have some very dedicated readers out there (read here: very committed grandparents!). To satisfy all, here is an update of what's happened since Baby V got her first teeth, which was our prior post to this one.
1. She learned to crawl sometime in early May and has been very mobile since then.
2. She now says "Dada," "dog," and "cat" on a regular basis, but especially when she sees one of the aforementioned words.
3. On Memorial Day (same day as her 8th month birthday), she completed two milestones way ahead of schedule: she sat up and pulled up on her own!
4. The day after she learned to pull up on furniture, she immediately started cruising around the den furniture and jumping up and down in her bed.
5. On her ninth month birthday we gave her a trip to the doctor's office. She weighed 22.7 lbs and was 29 inches long. We also found out that she had low iron, so she is now on vitamins with iron.
6. This summer we have visited the pool and enjoyed library storytimes, but not nearly as often as I had planned to. Where is the summer going?
7. Baby V attended her first parade on July 4 and rode in a wagon with her friend, Caitie.
8. She saw her first movie in a theater (Cars) with Caitie.
9. She took her first little vacation with Granny and Papaw to Nashville, TN.
10. And today, she drove through Cherokee Reservation, but was asleep the whole time. We vowed to bring her back when she is older so that she too may learn about her ancestors just like my father did for me.
I am sure that there are several things that I am forgetting, and I guess that if I blogged on a regular basis, I would not have left them out. We do, however, have some big events coming up in the near future and hopefully I will remember to record them here for all to read. The biggest and closest event will be that my sister and brother-in-law, Stacy and Paul, are expecting their first baby in August. Baby V will get to meet her first 1st cousin and I will be an aunt! Next, Baby V will be going on her first beach trip in September for our friend Allyson's wedding in Hilton Head, S.C. When we return, she will celebrate her first birthday (September 26)! And we already have big plans for next April. Our good friends, Sara and Shawn, are organizing a trip to Disney World. So Baby V will be 18 months for her first trip to meet Mickey Mouse and all the Disney Princesses in person. Baby V's mom (me), on the other hand, will be 28 for her first trip to Disney World!
So please do not be discouraged if I do not post regularly, but as you can see, we do have some very exciting events coming up in the near future--so please do come back!

Hey Lori..I hear you're shopping with us on the 3rd. You'll have a great time. Bring you laundry basket and your ass kicking shoes. Those moms are vicious.

Well now that I am in a land far, far away, you'll HAVE TO update more regularly. With pictures. And sound clips.
